At the UNSC briefing by the ICC Deputy Prosecutor on Libya, Greece underscored:
➡️ the significant progress achieved by the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) regarding its main line of inquiry
➡️ the landmark development of the anticipated first surrender of a suspect to the ICC
➡️ the increased cooperation of the Government of Libya with the OTP, which is also reflected in the acceptance by Libya of the Court’s jurisdiction over crimes committed in its territory.
➡️ the obligations of the country under UNSC Resolution 1979 (2011) to surrender to the ICC suspects arrested by the Libyan authorities against whom there are pending ICC arrest warrants.
