United States Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and lead US climate lawyer, Ms Sue Biniaz visited Greece for preparatory meetings ahead of the 9th Our Ocean Conferencehttps://ourocean2024.gov.gr/ scheduled to take place in Athens, on April 15-17. While in Greece, the United States Special Envoy met with the Ministers for the Environment & Energy, Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, Tourism, Ms Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Minister for Digital Governance Mr. Konstantinos Kyranakis and Foreign Ministry Director-General for International Organisations & International Security and Cooperation, Ambassador Ms Maria Theofili.
In an interview to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, published on February 4, , United States Deputy Special Envoy for Climate and lead climate lawyer, Ms Sue Biniaz expressed her enthusiasm for Greece being the host of the 9th ‘Our Ocean’ Conference in April, and for the country’s decision to focus on important issues such as marine pollution.
