Greece participates in the 44th session of the Francophonie Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Placed under the theme “Good governance: a guarantee of political, economic and cultural stability for French-speaking citizens”, the 44th session of the Francophonie Ministerial Conference was held on November 3-5 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The conference provided an opportunity for Greece to highlight its potential contribution for the institution through its 2025/26 candidacy for the UN’s Security Council.
Emphasis was placed on the active role of the Hellenic Republic in promoting essential values related to good governance and in particular, the impact of its triptych ‘Dialogue, Diplomacy, Democracy’ on digital governance and its means to bring about effective and prosperous institution-building. Propelled by its determination to advocate for prosperity and stability through cultural and linguistic diversity, Greece aims at further reinforcing its role within the Organisation and the Forum’s deliberations.
The International Organisation of Francophonie currently counts 54 member-states, 7 affiliated states, and 27 observer states throughout the world. Greece joined the Organisation as a full member in 2006.
