At today’s IID on Peacebulding & Sustaining Peace, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ cochaired today along with the President of the UNGA and the Peacebuilding Commission Chair the first Joint IID on Peacebuilding Architecture, where the cofacilitators (Egypt and Slovenia) presented for the first time the elements paper which will serve as a basis for the Resolutions that will be adopted by the UNGA and the UNSC in 2025
➡ highlighted the need for a Peacebuilding Architecture Review that is fit for purpose, supporting nationally-owned strategies, including local community leaders, women and youth peacebuilders as well as Civil Society Organisations
➡ emphasized stronger partnerships & more systematic cooperation with regional organizations as well as innovative financing models, including with International Financial Institutions
