January 24 marks the International Day of Education. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed this day in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.
A longstanding supporter of the respective Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, Greece participated in the recent meeting of the Group of Friends for Education and Life-long Learning, held in the United Nations Headquarters. In its address, the Permanent Mission of the Hellenic Republic to the United Nations took stock of the progress made since the Transforming Education Summit, held in 2022 and committed to prioritize education at the heart of the upcoming Summit of the Future, scheduled to take place in September 2024. Greece further highlighted the necessity to develop a substantial agenda around the digital transformation of education.
