On June 21 the Hellenic Mission to the United Nations participated in the inaugural meeting of the newly established Group of Friends on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development. It is an initiative led by the U.S. Mission together with the Permanent Mission of Morocco and follows the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the first UN resolution on Artificial Intelligence. It is considered a landmark Resolution and signals a global consensus on Artificial Intelligence as a means of supporting the laborious and complex objective of sustainable development.
Greece expects that the Group will serve as a platform where countries can hone their skills in digital cooperation, confer on matters such as regulation and compliance, exchange best practices and capitalize on the powerful tool of artificial intelligence.
