In Sudan, more than 25M people are facing acute hunger because of the country’s unrelenting conflict that has set off the world’s largest hunger crisis. The humanitarian needs are higher than ever and UN’s World Food Programme has delivered life-saving food and nutrition assistance to over 9.8 million people since the war broke out.

Greece participated in the International Humanitarian Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries in Paris (April 2024) and contributed the amount of 100,000 euros to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), with the purpose of alleviating the humanitarian crisis in a country now facing the worst displacement crisis in the world.

The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity, for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.
