UN Security Council held a briefing today on the situation in Syria. PR of Greece, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris:
➡️ Stressed that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria must be respected by all and reiterated Greece’s firm support for a united, secure and peaceful Syria to the benefit of its people and regional stability
➡️ Underlined that – as demonstrated by recent atrocities committed in the coastal region – a truly inclusive political transition, combined with transitional justice, is key to viable peace in the country
➡️ Underscored the gravity of the humanitarian crisis in Syria and expressed Greece’s unwavering solidarity in support of Syria’s recovery, tangibly demonstrated during the recent 9th Brussels Recovery Conference.
