The UN Security Council convened this morning to discuss the situation concerning the DRC. Greece:
➡️ reiterated that the implementation of UNSC Resolution 2773 is imperative and urged all parties to accelerate the implementation of their commitments as provided by the Washington Peace Agreement
➡️ stressed its strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the DRC
➡️ emphasized the strong commitment to the safety and security of MONUSCO’s personnel and underlined that restrictions to its freedom of movement must cease immediately
➡️ condemned all forms of human rights violations, committed both by armed groups and state agents, and stressed that perpetrators must be held accountable.
