At this morning’s UNSC briefing on Peace consolidation in West Africa and the Sahel, with a focus on enhancing regional counter-terrorism cooperation, PR of Greece:
➡️ stressed that the terrorist attacks in West Africa & the Sahel are a stark reminder that terrorism and inter-communal violence recognize no faith or frontier
➡️ highlighted that regional ownership, complemented by international solidarity, remains essential to reversing current trends
➡️ expressed support to key regional CT forces (MNJTF, Accra Initiative) & coastal security initiatives in the Gulf of Guinea
➡️ underscored that in the fight against terrorism, human security is central, and highlighting that women & girls face the heaviest toll.
