The Security Council convened for a briefing by the Chairs of the 1267, 1373 and 1540 Committees. PR of Greece:
➡️ underlined the need for coherent, coordinated & human-rights-based implementation policies across all CT & non-proliferation mandates
➡️ reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to multilateralism & to ensuring terrorist actors do not threaten peace, security or human dignity
➡️ reiterated our support for the 1267 regime, noting ISIL & Al-Qaida affiliates remain active across Africa & Asia
➡️ stressed the vital role of the CTC/CTED in assisting Member States against evolving terrorist threats
➡️ emphasized Greece’s commitment as 1540 Vice-Chair, including last week’s related workshop on maritime border security in Greece.
