| Greece participated at trainings offered by UN Institute for Training and Research on matters pertaining to UN Security Council procedures along with Portugal and the Department of Political and Peacebuilding affairs and the inclusion of the UNSC-UNGA relationship (with Portugal & Ecuador). The Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris provided insights of Greece’s preparatory efforts & training opportunities acquired in view of its current UN Security Council elected term, as well as of its duties as the current UN Security Council president for the month of May. Greece’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Mr. Stamatekos, also highlighted the shared responsibility of the UN General Assembly & UN Security Council for maintaining international peace & security, while stressing the need for communication, coordination & mutual respect between them |
