UN Security Council open debate under the agenda item “Women and peace and security” (“Conflict-related sexual violence: honouring the promise of international law to survivors of conflict-related sexual violence”)

At today’s UN Security Council meeting on WPS (CRSV), the Permanent Representative of Greece:

↪️ Voiced deep concern over conflict-related sexual violence and strongly condemned all its forms.

↪️ Called for survivors’ immediate access to life-saving, gender-responsive care.

↪️ Stressed that recovery must be built into security responses from the outset — not treated as an afterthought.

↪️ Urged time-bound measures & action plans to prevent and address CRSV, including reparations for survivors.

↪️ Reaffirmed Greece’s unwavering support for the mandate of the SRSG on Sexual Violence in Conflict.
