At the UN Security Council briefing on Threats to International Peace and Security (Venezuela), the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Expressed concern over the further escalation of tensions in the Caribbean.
↪ Emphasized the need for full respect for international law, in particular the UN Charter, as well as international humanitarian law.
↪ Voiced alarm over potential threats to maritime security and underscored the importance of respect for the Law of the Sea, as enshrined in UNCLOS.
↪ Expressed support for the region’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and organized crime.
↪ Reiterated Greece’s readiness to support all bilateral, regional, and international efforts aimed at de-escalation through dialogue and diplomacy.
