At today’s UN Security Council briefing on the situation in the DRC, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Reiterated that Resolution 2773 must be implemented immediately, fully and unconditionally and underscored that AFC/M23 must immediately cease hostilities and withdraw from eastern DRC.
↪ Commended the US and Qatar for their critical mediation effort and called on both DRC and Rwanda to accelerate the implementation of their commitments.
↪ Expressed deep concerns about the grave human rights violations and abuses committed, including against women and children.
↪ Reiterated Greece’s support to MONUSCO, in view of the upcoming renewal of the Mission’s mandate.
