At the UN Security Council briefing on Non-Proliferation (Iran/ 2231), the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Reiterated Greece’s unwavering commitment to the global Non-Proliferation regime.
↪ Expressed serious concern over the IAEA’s findings and urged Iran to take all necessary steps to assure the international community of the exclusively peaceful nature of its nuclear programme, including by fully implementing safeguard obligations and allowing IAEA access to its nuclear installations.
↪ Stressed that there can only be a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue — one that ensures the programme remains peaceful, provides sanctions relief, and contributes to regional de-escalation, peace, and security.
