UN Security Council meeting on the Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question (Humanitarian Situation in Gaza)

At today’s UNSC meeting on the situation in the Middle East, the Permanent Representative of Greece Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris

➡ expressed serious concern for the resumption of hostilities in Gaza and the new high death toll

➡ called on all relevant parties to show restraint and resume ceasefire talks 

➡ echoed calls for humanitarian aid to flow immediately back to Gaza and crossings to open as soon as possible

➡ called on Israel to allow and facilitate the safe, unconditional, massive and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid at scale

➡ stressed the need for a permanent ceasefire which can pave the way for the release of all remaining hostages and Gaza’s reconstruction
