At today’s UNSC High Level Open Debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question, the Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Expressed solidarity with Bahrain in the midst of illegal and unprovoked attacks by Iran against them.
↪ Expressed hope that the extension of the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon will be consolidated, stressing that Greece stepped up its support for Lebanon in its hour of dire need, standing fully behind President Aoun.
↪ Condemned the increasing and unprecedented settler violence targeting the Palestinian population, including Christian communities, calling for its cessation and reaffirming Greece’s commitment to a two-state solution.
↪ Welcomed the establishment of a liaison between the Palestinian Authority and NCAG, stressing that Hamas must fully disarm.
