At today’s UNSC emergency briefing on Palestine, convened upon the request of UK, Denmark, France, Greece and Slovenia, Mr Stamatekos, Chargé d’ Affaires of the Perm. Mission of Greece to the UN:
↪ along with other European members of the UNSC, condemned any expansion of military operations through the Gaza Strip and underlined that any attempts at annexation would be contrary to international law.
↪ repeated Greece’s call for humanitarian aid to be delivered immediately and at scale to Gaza, in full cooperation with the UN.
↪ called for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.
↪ reiterated Greece’s unwavering position on the Palestinian issue and its support for the implementation of the two-state solution, while guaranteeing Israel’s right to exist in peace and security.
