At today’s UNSC briefing on the implementation of UNSC Res. 2474, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ stressed that UNSC Res. 2474 is a landmark in collective efforts to address the plight of missing persons in armed conflict
➡ underlined that Greece fully supports the work of the UN through the establishment of commissions for missing persons
➡ underlined that the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus should be supported to bring an end to the suffering of families of missing persons
➡ stressed that the international community should not lose sight in cases such as Kuwait, Syria, Ukraine & the OPT
➡ praised the vital role of the ICRC to locate & identify missing persons, support families & restore family links
