At today’s UN Security Council briefing on Threats to International Peace and Security, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Expressed concern over the escalation of tensions in the Caribbean region and the rising threat of drug trafficking.
↪ Reiterated its principled position that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable path to the peaceful resolution of disputes, utilizing the tools enshrined in the UN Charter.
↪ Emphasized the need to adhere to international law and expressed readiness to support all bilateral, regional and international efforts for de-escalation.
↪ Congratulated Maria Corina Machado for being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, an inspiring figure of democracy and freedom.
