At today’s UNSC briefing on Syria, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ stressed that a unified, stable and fully representative Syria -whose sovereignty and territorial integrity is respected by all- will be an integral part of a stable and sustainable security environment in the region, the stability of which is still precarious
➡ underlined that Syria’s successful integration in the international community is contingent on its respect for International Law, including UNCLOS
➡ underscored that Greece will assist in alleviating the humanitarian situation in the country and will contribute effectively to its reconstruction and economic reconstitution
➡ highlighted that accountability and transitional justice is critical, against the backdrop of a precarious security situation
