At today’s UNSC briefing on Syria, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ expressed support for Syria’s transition to ensure that the Syrian people will see peace and prosperity once more after 14 years of bloodshed and deprivation
➡ acknowledging the presence of Syria’s interim Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, reiterated that Syria’s political transition needs to be fully inclusive and Syrian-led & -owned, as justice and accountability remain critical
➡ urged for keeping the National Dialogue alive for the expression of concerns and aspirations of all communities
➡ expressed eagerness to welcome the publication of the transparent and impartial investigation process on the appalling violence in the coastal region in early March
