At today’s UN Security Council briefing on Iraq (UNAMI), the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪ Acknowledged UNAMI’s legacy in Iraq, following more than 20 years of fruitful engagement with the Government and its people.
↪ Reiterated its full support for Iraq’s sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity.
↪ Commended Iraq for its efforts to ensure the effective conduct of the November 11th parliamentary elections, with the invaluable assistance of the UN.
↪ Welcomed the ongoing research for missing Kuwaiti and third country nationals, as well as the efforts to recover Kuwaiti missing property, including national archives.
↪ Expressed its strong belief that the continuous partnership between Iraq and the UN will help realize the aspirations of all Iraqis for a peaceful and prosperous future.
