UN Security Council Briefing on the humanitarian situation in Gaza

At today’s UNSC briefing on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris in his national capacity:

➡ expressed concern over the continuous humanitarian blockade in Gaza and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territories

➡ called for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers in accordance with International Humanitarian Law

➡ highlighted that any proposed aid plan must adhere to International Humanitarian Law core principles

➡ underscored the importance of negotiations aiming at a permanent and sustainable ceasefire and the release of all hostages

➡ stressed that the June Conference presents a unique opportunity to revitalize the political process towards the two-state solution, according to relevant UNSC Resolutions
