At today’s UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East (Syria), Greece raised the following points:
↪️ The new People’s Assembly must reflect Syrian society’s diversity and enjoy broad legitimacy.
↪️ The fate of the missing must be addressed — key to reconciliation and trust between communities.
↪️ Security situation is still fragile; a year after Sweida violence and the Mar Elias Church bombing in Damascus.
↪️ Call for sustained international engagement towards reconstruction and development amid dire humanitarian needs.
