At today’s UN Security Council Arria formula meeting on the “Assessment of the normative gap regarding natural resources and peace: foundations and perspectives”, the Permanent Representative of Greece highlighted the importance of:
↪ Integrating sustainable supply chains,
↪ Facilitating investments for development and infrastructure,
↪ Ensuring traceability and certification,
↪ Embedding due diligence and human rights safeguards,
↪ Achieving sustainable and responsible production and utilization of natural resources.
These elements can strengthen economy diversification, minimize environmental damage and health impacts and ensure national, regional and international prosperity, peace and security.
