At this afternoon’s Arria formula meeting organised by Greece, France and RoK, and cosponsored by Armenia, Italy and the Netherlands on safe, inclusive and trustworthy AI, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ stressed the need for the UN Security Council to explore responsible AI integration in peace operations, as well as to consider measures to ensure that competition arising from emerging AI technologies does not destabilize international peace and security
➡ emphasised that all AI applications should comply with the UN Charter and international law, including International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law
➡ underlined the importance that the UN Security Council demonstrates unity, vision and foresight in contributing to global efforts for harnessing safe, inclusive, trustworthy AI for the maintenance of international peace and security
