At the UNSC monthly meeting on the situation in the Middle East (Yemen), PR of Greece, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris:
➡️ reiterated his call on Houthis to immediately release all diplomatic staff, UN and NGO personnel & humanitarian workers and strongly condemned their arbitrary detention
➡️ unequivocally supported the work of SESG Grundberg and his efforts to reinvigorate the dialogue between the parties
➡️ reiterated Greece’s commitment to contribute to maritime security in the region of the Red Sea
➡️ called for the parties to refrain from any escalatory action that could pose risks for environmental disasters especially in the Red Sea.
