Statement by Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis in relation to the achievement of an agreement regarding the humanitarian pause in Gaza and the release of hostages
“I would like to welcome the agreement reached today between the parties on a humanitarian pause in Gaza and the release of 50 hostages who were abducted following the terrorist attack on October 7.
The Greek Government timely proposed and emphatically raised the need for a humanitarian pause and the establishment of sustainable humanitarian corridors. We have taken all necessary actions in this regard.
There should be an immediate and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and provision of medical care for those in need, along with intensified efforts to achieve definitive peace in the region”.
