Congratulations to the five newly-elected Member States of the UN Security Council for the 2024-2025 term, namely Algeria, Guyana, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia. Their official start of tenure on the Council begins today, on the first business day of the new year. The five newly elected countries will join Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique and Switzerland as elected members of the Council.
