United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres met with francophone Ambassadors representing “Organisation internationale de la Francophonie” (OIF) member states, in New York, on December 21. Ahead of the Summit of the Future, scheduled to take place this September in New York and taking concrete steps towards a Pact for the Future, the S.G. had the opportunity to exchange views with many Francophonie member states among which, the Hellenic Republic. S.G. Guterres was prompt to stress the need for the preservation of cultural and linguistic diversity and the Greek Permanent Mission to the United Nations pledged to continue its efforts in promoting and upholding this unique institution.
