The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly opened on September 10, welcoming leaders from across the world to deliberate on a series of pressing issues for humanity. This year’s High-Level Week (September 23-27) marks a crucial milestone in the global effort to accelerate progress towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
On September 26, Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis held discussions with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, in the margins of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Both Ministers explored ways to enhance interaction during Greece’s 2025/26 term as elected United Nations Security Council member, in order to promote global cooperation, in alignment with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
