Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou participated in the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting that took place in the margins of the United Nations 79th GA High Level Week, in New York.
DFM Papadopoulou thanked the Brazilian Presidency for the initiative and stressed Greece’s full support to the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty. In this vein, DFM Papadopoulou underscored the need for progress with regards to the Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030 as well as the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
At the same time, in view of Greece’ UNSC tenure for the term 2025-2026 DFM Papadopoulou reiterated that Greece remains committed to cooperate with all the countries in view of our collective efforts. In the light of the G20 ministerial meeting, Greece joined the Call of Action on Global Governance Reform, reaffirming that the current global challenges can only be addressed through multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow and the strengthening of global governance for both present and future generations.
