The 74th session of the World Health Organisation (WHO) regional Committee for Europe took place in Copenhagen from October 29 to 31, inviting Health ministers and high-level delegates from the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region. Greek Alternate Health Minister Irene Agapidaki participated in the Session’s works and seized the opportunity to present WHO/Europe (one of the six offices the Organisation operates globally), with the most symbolic gift, a bust of Hippocrates of Kos, the father of clinical medicine.
“Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity”
Regional Director Hans Kluge thanked the Greek Minister for the Hellenic Republic’s gift stating that “it represents the unifying power of medicine and the values we hold dear: compassion, honesty, justice and respect for human life and dignity”.
