At today’s UN Security Council meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Director General for International Organisations, International Security and Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece:
↪️ Expressed support for the work of the High Commissioner, highlighting the “route-based approach” developed by the UNHCR, jointly with the International Organisation of Migration.
↪️ Reiterated Greece’s strong commitment to ensuring respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law, stepping up humanitarian action to support refugees, displaced persons, and host countries, and finding meaningful solutions to reverse displacement trends.
↪️ Underlined the fundamental importance of international cooperation, national sovereignty, and the rule of law.
