At today’s UN Security Council Briefing on Syria, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:
↪️ Stressed that Syrian institutions must deliver on the promise of an inclusive transition, securing the participation of all components of the Syrian society in shaping the country’s future.
↪️ Encouraged the further engagement of the Syrian authorities with the IIIM and all relevant institutions amid efforts to promote transitional justice.
↪️ Expressed its readiness to contribute to Syria’s recovery and to efforts that strengthen its links with the wider international community.
↪️ Highlighted the need for a genuine security settlement and reiterated its unequivocal respect for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
