UN Security Council Briefing on Threats to International Peace and Security by acts of terrorism

At today’s UN Security Council meeting on Threats to International Peace and Security by acts of terrorism, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece:

↪️ Stressed that the Da’esh terrorist threat remains persistent and demands sustained international vigilance.

↪️ Expressed deep concern for the continued regionalization of terrorism, particularly across Africa, but also in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Central Asia.

↪️ Expressed alarm by the increasingly sophisticated misuse of new and emerging technologies.

↪️ Reaffirmed the importance of maritime security and the centrality of the humanitarian dimension in international counter-terrorism efforts.
