At today’s UNSC briefing on Haiti with the participation of the UN Secretary General, the Permanent Representative of Greece:
➡️ expressed deep concern about the deteriorating security situation & rising gang violence in Haiti
➡️ called for the immediate cessation of child recruitment & use by gangs
➡️ expressed concern about the systematic use of sexual & gender-based violence against women, as a means of terror & subjugation
➡️ reiterated Greece’s support to a strengthened UN presence in Haiti
➡️ advocated for strict implementation of the arms embargo & sanctions regime.
