At today’s UNSC Open Debate on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV), Mr Stamatekos, Deputy Permanent Representative of Greece to the UN:
↪ condemned all forms of CRSV and called on all parties to conflict to immediately cease these acts.
↪ urged all parties to conflict to adopt time-bound measures and action plans to prevent and address CRSV, and fully implement them.
↪ reiterated that access to life-saving services for victims of CRSV should be inclusive, survivor-centered and grounded in international human rights law.
↪ emphasized the need to empower survivors of CRSV, by ensuring their full, equal, meaningful and safe participation in peace processes.
↪ thanked SRSG Patten and expressed gratitude for her work.
