At today’s Security Council briefing on the situation in Afghanistan – UNAMA, PR of Greece, Amb.Evangelos Sekeris:
➡️ strongly condemned the continuing severe restrictions of the fundamental freedoms of women and girls, as well as the human rights violations and abuses against all Afghan citizens
➡️ urged the Taliban to fulfill their obligations to the international community by respecting human rights, countering terrorism and establishing an inclusive government
➡️ expressed Greece’s support to UNAMA’s work and to the UN–led Doha process, while endorsing the international community to keep up humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
