At today’s UNSC briefing on the situation in Libvya, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris:
➡ expressed strong support for the work of SRSG Hannah Tetteh since taking office and for the continued dedicated efforts of UNSMIL towards peace and prosperity
➡ repeated Greece’s unequivocal support for Libya’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, free from any form of foreign interference
➡ highlighted the need for a unified Libya, with full respect for international law, including human rights law and the Law of the Sea.
➡ reaffirmed Greece’s readiness to contribute constructively to the renewal of the Operation’s IRINI mandate in May, a key – operation for safeguarding peace and stability in Libya and the entire region
