At today’s UN Security Council high level open debate on multilateralism and global governance, the Permanent Representative of Greece, Ambassador Sekeris
➡ called for the rapid implementation of the Pact of the Future, especially towards transforming global governance and reinvigorating the multilateral system
➡ reiterated the need to go “back to basics” of the UN, particularly the peaceful settlement of disputes and respect of international law
➡ highlighted that peace and security cannot prevail in the absence of development and growth
➡ advocated for the implementation of the Global Digital Compact and responsible use of AI
➡ characterised the upcoming UN 80th anniversary as a moment for collective reflection on UN accomplishments and reiteration of support to its core principles and values
