During October 16’s interactive dialogue with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, in the framework of the General Assembly’s Third Commission, the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations highlighted specific commitments with regard to the promotion of Human Rights, particularly for the vulnerable categories of unaccompanied minors, victims of trafficking and persons with disabilities.
Moreover, on October 15, Greece participated in an event organized by the Women’s International Forum and the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations, inviting United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk as a keynote speaker.
Commemorating 76 years since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, -the world’s most translated document- the event placed special emphasis on the ongoing journey to uphold these universal ideals and how to implement them in specific situations such as gender inequality.
