The Greek candidacy for the UN Security Council for the biennium 2025/26 has set out six priorities. Below you will find some interesting facts related to each of these priorities. These facts highlight the pressing nature of global challenges such as the protection of our environment or the adherence to the basic principles of the Rule of Law. Most importantly, these facts act as a reminder to each of us that humanity needs to embrace intergenerational responsibility and move swiftly and decisively!

Respect for International Law and the rules and principles of the UN Charter

Did you Know? Quantitative analysis has shown that women’s participation increases the probability of a peace agreement lasting at least two years by 20 percent, and by 35 percent the probability of a peace agreement lasting 15 years.
